MUSCAT — The Ministry of Information has
introduced a new television programme as part of the Oman Television 2
Satellite Channel specifically devoted to introduce the best of breed
in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Raqmyaat presents the latest in ICT, locally and globally, in which it features various topics including the mobile technology, market news, products and services, innovations, website reviews, games, buyers’ guide, tips and tricks, learn with us and many more. The programme targets everyone be it beginners, techies and non-computer savvy. The programme is managed and edited by an official at the ministry, Aziz Salem Al Hassani, the head of Computer Software Development section, and presented and hosted by Abdullah Al Bahrani along with Oman’s popular IT expert, Tariq Hilal Al Barwani, working at Nawras. “We have selected Tariq for his IT experience, skills and his contribution to the public. I will be working closely with Tariq to further develop the programme by creating a team of Omani professionals to update the public on the latest IT developments practiced locally and globally”, said Aziz Al Hassani. The live programme would also accept and answer calls from the viewers on any aspects related to the ICT. “It indeed brings me great pleasure to render assistance and support the ministry’s development of the programme in order to solidify the government initiatives and His Majesty’s directives of the Digital Economy paved the Sultanate”, concluded Tariq Al Barwani. The Raqmyaat is a one-hour weekly programme live on Oman TV2, every Thursday from 11:00pm to 12:00 midnight and repeated again on Sunday from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The channel is broadcasted in ArabSat 2A Satelliete, under the frequency 11859MHz |
