Computer whiz develops first multilingual website

MUSCAT — Mazoon College for Management and Applied Sciences has launched an English-Arabic language website, which is the first multilingual website in Oman. The website is hosted and maintained by Tariq bin Hilal al Barwani, and can be accessed at
www.mazooncollege.com

Mazoon College for Management and Applied Sciences was established in 1999 with the objective to make a wide range of high quality English-medium college degree programmes available locally in Oman. The college is exclusively for women, although its evening programmes are open to all.

The college currently offers five two-year Associate degree programmes — Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science and Business English. The college's academic affiliation agreement is with the University of Missouri — Rolla (UMR) in the US.

Commenting on the launch of the website, Dr Juma al Ghailani, Dean, said: "Our website was designed using the latest in Internet technologies and features invaluable information such as our profile, programmes and courses, facilities, and our contact details.

The website can be accessed in both English as well as Arabic. I chose Tariq to develop our website because of his exceptional talents, professionalism and previous work in the same field." Tariq al Barwani added: "Developing the first English and Arabic website in Oman for a private college was one of my activities during my university vacation, which I feel was time well utilised."
