Oman’s IT Whiz kid, Tariq bin Hilal Al-Barwani,  is set to join a Canadian university for doing Masters Degree in Computer Science. He will join the 3 year course in late August 2001. In the first year, he will study as an independent student. 

“ My goal was to see OHITARIQ Portal and the OHI Internet Divison at the top. The goal is fulfilled. Now, it is the time to go back to college then return to serve my country and the community with a better development “. Confident Tariq. 

Tariq, now 21 years old, joined OHI-Telecommunication in March 2000 as the Internet Services Manager. During his tenure, Tariq developed the Internet Division by creating the team, recruiting staff, training them and promoting the division. In 7 months, the OHITARIQ was voted as Oman’s Best Portal and Tariq was voted Best Dot-Com Idea. 

“ My stint with OHI was extremely beneficial, I have not only contributed to the growth of the organization but have also learnt a great deal  “. Tariq noted 

With the strong team I have created, I have no doubt that the division is now self- reliance.
