KnowledgeOman.com launches KO Mobile!
MUSCAT — KnowledgeOman, an IT knowledge-sharing community portal, launched KO
Mobile, the first mobile version website of the portal in the Sultanate,
yesterday
KO Mobile is a dedicated link specifically developed to allow all wireless and
mobile phone users to easily access, view and share knowledge via the portal (www.knowledgeoman.com),
using their mobile phones.
Tariq Hilal Al Barwani, founder and president of KnowledgeOman.com, said: “We
are very excited to be the first in the country to introduce a means for the
community to access our portal, share and exchange knowledge using their
mobile phones. KnowledgeOman.com is now accessible to more than 2.9 million
mobile subscribers in Oman, anywhere and anytime through a direct link,
www.knowledgeoman.com/mobile”
KnowledgeOman.com has two user two interfaces: English and Arabic. The portal
was launched on April 1, 2008, and has so far attracted more than 152,000
visitors, and 1,480 registered members.
“KnowledgeOman.com portal is managed by a team of dedicated local and
expatriate professionals and enthusiasts who share the passion for sharing
knowledge and making a difference. Furthermore, the portal is also supported
by the largest software company Microsoft,” Tariq said
The mobile site, www.knowledgeoman.com/mobile can be viewed easily on a wide
range of mobile devices that are enhanced with wireless data access (GPRS/EDGE/UTMS).
