Muscat - A new and innovative radio show programme is making the rounds in the
Sultanate – the Cyber Talk. The weekly information and communication
technology (ICT) programme is introduced by the Ministry of Information in
cooperation with the Oman’s popular IT expert, Tariq Hilal Al-Barwani.
CyberTalk presents the latest news in ICT, locally and globally, in which it
features various topics including the mobile technology, market news, products
and services, innovations, buyers’ guide, tips and tricks, Q&A, Quizzes and
many more.
“The use of IT has become a very important today, whether you are at home or
at work. Thus, the idea of introducing a programme to educate and update the
public on IT matters emerged. We have selected Tariq to manage and run the
programme due to his intelligence and expertise in the field”, said Sultan Al
Aisri, English Programmes Director, Radio Sultanate of Oman.
The live radio programme also features a live questions and answer session in
which the listeners can call and enquire on any aspects related to the
information technology.
“We are in a knowledge based economy; IT literacy has become vital requirement
and skill for everyone today. I’m delighted to work for the government to
share and spread knowledge for the necessary development of Digital Oman and
our economy as well. This programme is your one stop shop for everything you
need to know about IT”, remarked Tariq Al Barwani, who also has his own
website at www.tariq.net which he utilizes to assist people on IT related
matters.
CyberTalk is a weekly LIVE two hour programme, every Thursday from 4:00 p.m to
6:00p.m. on Radio Sultanate of Oman 90.4. FM
