Success in Oman soon in bookstalls


Muscat - Success in Oman, a 75-page book on the success stories of young Omanis, will be available at bookstalls from next month.

Based on the inspiring success stories of 21 young Omanis, the book conveys the message that there is no need to look for imported role models when one can benefit from the experience of successful Omanis in most spheres of life.

In his contribution, Fahad Abdullah al Raisi, General Secretary of Oman Football Association, says, "in almost every part of life the days of the talented amateur are almost over. A professional attitude is now a prerequisite".

Tariq al Barwani, whose love for and knowledge of computers has earned him the title of WhizKid, says "there are many attributes to success but the important are self- discipline and time management. Furthermore, knowledge, experience, ambition, good listening and the art of dealing with people are also crucial for success".

According to Hashim Talib al Breiki, "biographies of the western businessmen are hardly useful in here, where the culture of conducting business is quite different".

For him a successful person is one who feels a sense of satisfaction from having his dreams and aspirations achieved. But success, he says, is not limited to business alone for "you can have all the wealth but without a happy personal life you've brought misery.

That's failure".

By bringing out books on the successful people of Oman, Allegro has been rendering yeoman's service to the Arabs in general and Omanis in particular, because they are on the lookout for local role models, feels Al Breiki.
